As a Redemptorist Bishop, I follow in the footsteps of some of the Church’s great preachers; St. Alphonsus Liguori, St. Clement Hofbauer, St. John Neumann. Though perhaps not always eloquent I am definitely passionate about the Word of God and getting it out into the world.
I have always enjoyed writing and, as a priest and now a bishop, I have also enjoyed preaching. Sometimes though I feel like there is not enough time to devote to a good homily. The days come and go so quickly that before I know it Sunday is here again and I find my thoughts still rough around the edges.
This blog is a tool then, first and foremost, to help me take the time I need to reflect, pray and write so that I can offer people the type of homily that they deserve when they come to Mass on Sunday.
But also, as a missionary living in the Canadian North, I am afforded the opportunity to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery this country has to offer and so I will be showcasing some of my favourite photographs along with the scripture reflections.
I hope you find both the reflections and the photographs enjoyable.
God bless you all.
